The survey (carried out for Ars Progetti) was made as part of the project to transform the house into an Interpretation Center.
The Yaqub Agha Complex is one of the most valuable homes within the Erbil Citadel.
It is located along the central axis (North South); it was the largest building in the Citadel in terms of size in plan, before it was cut due to the opening of the main road in 1958.
The complex is now divided into two separate blocks on either side of the north-south road.
Both are two-storey buildings. The main block still retains its status as a court house, while, having been partially destroyed in 1958, Block B has an L-shape.
The two buildings cover an approximate area of 1,300 square meters.
